Of Gas and Keks: Favorite L2 Solutions?

So we started this conversation in the Discord and wanted to shuttle it on over here to the forums for everyone!

While a bull market is always an exciting time, triple-digit gas on every ETH transaction takes a huge chunk out of the fun, profitability, and functionality for us all. Imagine wanting to buy 0.1 ETH worth of KEK right now and paying what essentially amounts to a 50%+ tax…those times are here and don’t seem to be going away anytime soon.

That being said…what are your favorite L2 solutions? And how could we perhaps involve KEK to alleviate the gas problem and allow investors of all sizes to best utilize this platform?

Its allready part of the roadmap xdai is very ready.. Why not bring kek to honeyswap?

I looked at xdai/honeyswap yesterday after seeing some talk about it. Tons of documentation. I do like that there are accessible fiat onramps.

Terra and Conflux are probably the two I’m the most familiar with.

TerraSwap and MoonSwap (not to be confused with Mooniswap) are the two Uni-ish DEX respectively.

Conflux gas is currently subsidized (aka zero) and Terra is extremely reasonable (not uncommon to pay sub-1cent tx fees for simple stuff) and the transactions themselves are extremely fast.

@Kekadelic – We did a bunch of research regarding xDai. There were a few things that were red flags. Firstly, the initial cost to convert your KEK tokens over to L2 (xdai) would cost $50-$300 which is nothing to blink an eye at. To get on the xDai network in something like Metamask is not one click, and the layman will have problems figuring it out. Further, our DAO as it stands is free to operate and use, which is awesome. One of the big reasons we were considering an L2 solution like xDai was because our previous DAO was too expensive to utilize.

I believe L2 solutions are very important for the future of the project. ETH’s Network congestion is not going to come down, only the most important transactions will be L1. If we want to future proof our project, we should start researching our options.

Key features of L2 solutions: One-click over to L2, cheap migration cost from ERC -> L2, say, $1-10 to move, and obviously cheap fees on said L2 network. A super clean UX is always nice too.

Matic is a sidechain of etthereum everyone is looking at, Aavegotchi is coming on it too.

65000 txn per second and currently cost of token is very low, so if we bought few thousand coins it will be huge gas supply

Even coinbase can convert in that too. They were saying in chat that dev has to do only clientside work (devs better know whats that, i dont understand) to get on matic from erc20

We must do research while its not adopted much yet, if its good advantage converting this now is its very cheap. If has any drawbacks we have to look another L2 solutions
